I am a Software Engineering student at the University of Brasília, passionate about innovation, gamification, and the intersection of technology with sustainability. With experience in UI/UX design and open-source contributions, I am committed to advancing diversity in tech, particularly through initiatives that encourage women's participation. I seek to merge technology and sustainability, contributing to projects that aim to reduce the environmental impact of digital infrastructures.
Accepted Talks:
The Role of Free Software and Debian in Green Sustainability
This talk explores the pivotal role of free software, with a focus on Debian, in advancing sustainability within the technology sector. As digital infrastructures continue to grow, the environmental footprint of proprietary software becomes increasingly apparent. In this session, we will discuss how free software reduces the ecological impact of proprietary alternatives by promoting energy-efficient practices, longevity, and reuse. Debian, as an open-source project, not only minimizes the need for frequent hardware upgrades but also encourages more sustainable development practices in software creation and distribution.
The audience for this talk includes developers, open-source enthusiasts, and environmental advocates interested in understanding how technology can contribute to environmental sustainability. Attendees will gain insight into how Debian’s open-source philosophy aligns with green computing principles, helping reduce electronic waste and supporting long-term environmental goals. Key topics will include the advantages of using lightweight software, optimizing resource consumption, and how the community-driven nature of Debian fosters a culture of sustainability.
Women in STEM: Encouraging Diversity in Debian
This session will focus on the importance of encouraging diversity, specifically women’s participation, in the Debian community and the broader tech landscape. Despite growing awareness, women remain underrepresented in open-source projects, and this talk aims to address the challenges and opportunities for increasing their involvement. We will explore how the Debian community can be more inclusive, the benefits of having diverse contributors, and the unique perspectives women bring to the table in shaping Debian’s future.
The audience for this talk includes current Debian contributors, women in tech, and anyone passionate about fostering diversity and inclusivity in open-source communities. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the importance of supporting women in STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields, with a specific focus on Debian. Through real-world examples, we’ll discuss initiatives such as mentorship, outreach programs, and the creation of supportive environments that encourage women to contribute to Debian and other open-source projects.
