Helen Koike
Helen Koike is a Linux Kernel Software Engineer at Igalia. She began contributing to Debian in 2017 as part of the EFI team, helping to add support for Secure Boot in Debian. She later contributed to the Cloud Team and worked on various smaller tasks across the project.
Although Helen is not currently able to contribute to Debian as part of her professional role, she remains enthusiastic about the project. She actively supports local events, promotes Debian, and motivates new contributors to get involved.
Accepted Talks:
Submit your first contribution to the Linux kernel
During this workshop, we will compile the kernel, modify the code, identify a contribution to make, and submit a patch to the community.
Bring your laptop! We’ll install a tool called virtme-ng and run our tests in a virtual machine.
virtme-ng: quickly test a kernel from Debian
In this talk, we’ll introduce virtme-ng, a tool used to easily test a Linux kernel on a virtual machine.
You can compile your own kernel and use your system’s root filesystem — but you can also use a prebuilt Ubuntu kernel along with its rootfs.
Similar support for Debian is in the works, which will also be covered in this presentation.
