Juliana Camargo is a graphic designer from Brazil with 8 years of experience. She works with social impact organizations and communities. She won the DebConf25 logo contest and is looking to adopt more Free Software tools in her work.
Accepted Talks:
Free Software, creation & ownership: a designer's perspective
When using proprietary creative software, designers must agree that their work will be used to train AI models, with no compensation provided.
GIMP, Inkscape and Blender can be considered viable solutions to this problem. Free Software design tools give the ownership back to designers. They help creators protect their work, creative style and design process.
In this talk I would like to start a discussion about what Debian and the Free Software world can do to further this interdisciplinary collaboration.
Meet the people behind Debian Artwork
This would be an interview with three women who have done contributions to Debian through their artwork.
Juliette Taka: She has been doing artwork for several Debian events including the themes for Debian Bullseye and Bookworm.
Elise Couper: The person behind the theme for Debian Trixie.
Juliana Camargo: Thanks to her for DebConf 25 logo.
The purpose of this talk is to bring their contributions to forefront and give inspiration to those who are afraid to contribute to Debian. To create an awareness that all contributions to Debian need not be entirely technical contributions.
The targeted audience is anyone who has interest in arts and wants to start contributing to Debian in a non technical way.
