Our Free Software projects need experts in many areas: developers, UX designers, technical writers, you name it. Any healthy, sustainable collective project also needs folks willing to take on a myriad of other kinds of tasks & responsibilities, small and big, that don’t require any particular expertise.
I’m not a developer. I’m not a specialist (for better or worse, origami does not count in this context). Nonetheless, as a Free Software enthusiast, I’ve found ways to contribute. Sure, it took some determination and persistence — perhaps even obstinacy at times — but what I discovered along the way made the trip worth it.
During this talk, I’ll share concrete examples of how I could contribute. Some may work for you, some won’t. It’s OK. I hope the story of my journey will you embark on your own odyssey and find your own way around!
