Operating Systems like macOS and Microsoft Windows note their voluntary compliance with EU and EPA energy saving directives in their “default configuration”. What gaps exist for Debian to do the same?
Also will touch on obstacles to compliance, such as the need for independent lab validation, presumably with a price tag, and the establishment of a Debian delegation to manage our compliance PoCs.
Vendors that ship Debian on their hardware, advertise compatibility, those with prior compliance expertise, as well as system integrators who deploy Debian or derivatives are especially welcome to contribute.
